Kimberley Aboriginal-led Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Plan

Survey

Thank you for your interest in the Kimberley Aboriginal-led Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Plan. The Plan is being developed by the Kimberley Aboriginal Health Planning Forum (KAHPF) through its Drug, Alcohol and Mental Health Sub-committee (DAMH-SC).

This survey forms part of the consultation process, together with the Discussion Paper, Desktop Review, consultation workshops and written submissions. Your feedback will help identify the priorities, actions and opportunities that should inform the Plan.

This survey closes on 7 August 2026.

All feedback will be collated and analysed in aggregate to ensure that individuals and organisations are not identified. Direct quotes or examples will only be included where permission has been provided.

About you

Setting priorities

Your ideas

For each priority area below, we'd like your ideas about what the Plan should do. This may include actions, priorities or existing approaches that are working well and should be strengthened. If you don't have comments on a particular area, simply leave it blank and continue.

Prevention and early intervention

Prevention and early intervention should support people, families and communities before harm escalates. This includes education, health promotion, community-led prevention and practical support.

Treatment and support across the continuum

The Plan will consider the whole AOD pathway, including withdrawal management, rehabilitation, counselling, case management, pharmacotherapy, aftercare, outreach and access across the Kimberley.

Cultural security, healing and Aboriginal-led responses

The Plan will consider Aboriginal leadership, cultural healing, cultural safety and Aboriginal Community Controlled approaches.

Workforce

The Plan will consider how to strengthen the AOD workforce, particularly the Aboriginal workforce, and respond to challenges such as recruitment, retention, housing and workforce wellbeing.

Coordination, partnerships and referral pathways

The Plan will consider how to strengthen collaboration, referral pathways and coordination between services and sectors.

Data, evidence and accountability

The Plan will consider how to strengthen data, monitoring, evaluation and accountability to support better planning and continuous improvement.

Infrastructure and access

The Plan will consider how access is influenced by geography, transport, digital connectivity, workforce accommodation and appropriate facilities.
